History of Mandore Garden

The city of Mandore is one of the well-preserved sites which was the ancient capital of Marwar. This city is as old as the epic Ramayana. According to the story, Ravana married Mandodipur's queen (old name of Mandore) Mandodari.

The place was attacked by many famous rulers such as Mohammad Tughlaq, Alauddin Khilji, and others, who forced the king to leave the place and move to Mehrangarh Fort. Today there is only Mandore Garden with Mandor Fort and Ravana Temple to carry the rich history of Mandore.
