Gaddisar lake, Jaisalmer
Gaddisar Lake is one of the most famous tourist destinations of Jaisalmer which was built by King Rawal Jaisal who was the first ruler of Jaisalmer. A few years later it was rebuilt by Maharaja Garrisar Singh and revived the lake. This historic lake is situated to the south in the city of Jaisalmer and the entrance to the lake is via Tilon-ki-Pol, its mihrabs are magnificently and artistically made of yellow sandstone. Sesame poles are decorated with the idol of the Hindu deity Vishnu. Which was established in 1908.
The banks of the Gaddisar Lake are surrounded by artfully carved twenty-six, temples, deoghri and ghats. Its attraction lies in the fact that it was previously the only source of water for the residents of the city of Jaisalmer. Due to being near Bharatpur, various migratory birds can also be seen on the banks of the lake, which further enhances its beauty. This is the best place to take a photo of Jaisalmer Fort in the morning when the fort looks golden in color from the first rays of the sun.
